Cable for hazardous areas – safety and flexibility in every installation
This blue OZ-BL 12x0.75 mm² cable is a reliable solution for installations in areas where there is a risk of explosion. Designed for demanding working conditions, it combines safety, flexibility and durability. The cable meets the standards DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51, which guarantees its high quality and compliance with applicable regulations.
Construction and application
This cable is particularly recommended for flexible applications where medium mechanical stresses occur, but without stretching and the need to run in conduits. It is ideal for potentially explosive areas marked as intrinsically safe (type -i-). It is used as a flexible control or measuring cable in intrinsically safe systems used in measurement and control technology. Important: the cable is not intended for direct laying in the ground.
Key features and benefits
- Safety: The cable has been designed specifically for hazardous areas, ensuring safe operation of equipment in potentially dangerous environments.
- Flexibility: The multi-wire construction of class 5 conductors provides high flexibility, making installation and routing of cables easier even in tight spaces.
- Durability: Made of high-quality materials – PVC type Z 7225 insulation and an outer PVC coating – guarantees resistance to mechanical damage and external factors.
- Core identification: Black cores with digital numbering according to DIN VDE 0293-334 make it easier to identify and connect cables, minimizing the risk of errors during installation.
- Resistance to external conditions: The cable is resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions, allowing it to be used both indoors and outdoors.
- Wide temperature range: The ability to operate at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -15°C to +80°C (flexible) makes the cable suitable for a variety of applications.
Technical parameters in practice
The OZ-BL 12x0.75 mm² cable is characterized by a conductor cross-section of 0.75 mm² and an outer diameter of approximately 9.8 mm. The rated voltage is 300/500V, and the fire reaction class is Eca. The mutual capacitance between conductors is approximately 120 pF/m at a frequency of 800 Hz, and the inductance is approximately 0.68 mH/km. The minimum bending radius is 7.5x the cable diameter for flexible operation and 4x the diameter for fixed laying. These parameters translate into reliable operation and long life of the cable in demanding industrial conditions.
