Cable for hazardous areas – safety and flexibility in installations
This blue OZ-BL 2x1 mm² cable is a flexible solution designed for installations in areas at risk of explosion. It is designed for applications where high resistance to external conditions and mechanical stress is required, while maintaining full functionality. Ideal for both professional installers and end-users looking for a reliable solution.
Construction and application
The cable is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) both as the outer jacket material and the core insulation. Flexible, multi-wire copper cores of class 5 provide good conductivity and easy installation. The blue jacket color indicates its intended use in intrinsically safe systems (type -i-) in potentially explosive areas, in accordance with DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14 standards. This cable is used in control and measurement technology, where reliable electrical connections are required in difficult conditions.
Designed for flexible applications where medium mechanical stresses occur with free movement, but without tensile stress and operation in cable ducts. Not suitable for laying in the ground. The nominal core cross-section is 1 mm², and the rated voltage is 300/500 V. This makes this cable perfect for low-voltage installations.
Properties and benefits
- Safety: Meets the requirements of standards for intrinsically safe installations, minimizing the risk of ignition in potentially explosive areas.
- Flexibility: Multi-wire core construction ensures easy installation and adaptation to various installation configurations.
- Resistance: PVC coating protects against external factors such as UV radiation and weather conditions. It is also largely resistant to oils.
- Durability: A wide range of operating temperatures (from -40°C to +80°C) guarantees reliable operation even in extreme conditions.
- Identification: Black cores with white printed numbers facilitate identification and connection of wires in accordance with applicable standards (DIN VDE 0293-334).
- Compliance with standards: The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 standards and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
- Mutual capacitance: core/core at 800 Hz is approximately 120 pF/m
- Inductance: approximately 0.68 mH/km
- Minimum bending radius: flexible 7.5x Ø cable, for fixed laying 4x Ø cable
The OZ-BL cable is a solid and reliable solution for demanding applications in hazardous areas – an investment in the safety and long-term functionality of your installation.
