Highly durable cable for EX zones
This blue, flexible OZ-BL-CY 34x1.5 cable is designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres where high reliability and protection against interference are required. This cable combines flexibility, safety and resistance to external factors, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end users.
Construction and properties
The cable features a construction adapted to work in harsh conditions. It has 34 flexible, stranded copper conductors class 5, insulated with PVC type Z 7225. The conductors are twisted in layers, which ensures optimal pitch and minimizes the risk of mechanical damage. Additionally, the cable has a screen made of tinned copper wire braid (approx. 85% coverage), which effectively protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC). The outer jacket made of PVC (type TM2) provides resistance to UV radiation, weather conditions and oil. The blue color (RAL 5015) makes it easy to identify the cable in the installation.
Applications and technical parameters
The OZ-BL-CY cable is intended for intrinsically safe installations according to DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 in areas at risk of explosion (according to DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14). It is perfect as a flexible control and measuring cable in control and measurement technology. It should not be used for laying in the ground.
The cable is characterized by a rated voltage of 300/500 V and a conductor cross-section of 1.5 mm². It consists of 34 conductors, and its outer diameter is approximately 21.3 mm. The operating temperature range is flexibly -10°C to +80°C and stationary -40°C to +80°C. It has a fire reaction class of Eca (according to EN 13501-6). Coupling impedance is approximately 250 Ohm/km (at 30 MHz), and mutual capacitance conductor/conductor is approximately 140 pF/m (at 800 Hz), and conductor/screen approximately 187 pF/m (at 800 Hz).
The cable meets the requirements of IEC 60332-1-2 regarding fire resistance and has a VDE-Reg.-No. 7032 certificate. This ensures safe and reliable operation in demanding industrial environments. It is also worth mentioning the high quality of workmanship – the materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances preventing paint adhesion during painting.
