This blue, flexible OZ-BL-CY 5x1.5 cable is designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, where high reliability and protection against interference are required. This cable combines flexibility, resistance to external factors and effective shielding, making it an ideal solution for both professional installers and end users.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a construction that ensures safety and long-term operation. Made of multi-wire copper conductor class 5 (DIN VDE 0295 / IEC 60228), insulated with PVC type Z 7225, it provides good flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage. Stranded wires in layers with an optimal pitch minimize the risk of interference. In addition, the cable has a screen in the form of a braid of tinned copper wires with a coverage density of approximately 85%, which effectively protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC). The outer sheath made of PVC (DIN VDE 0207-363-4-1 / DIN EN 50363-4-1, type TM2) in blue color (RAL 5015) provides resistance to UV radiation and weather conditions.

Applications and benefits

This cable is widely used in intrinsically safe installations according to DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 and in areas subject to explosion hazards according to DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14 (Section 16.2.2). It is ideal for use as a control and measuring cable in control and measurement technology, especially in ungrounded installations with a separate electrical circuit. Thanks to the shielding, the cable minimizes the impact of electromagnetic interference on the operation of devices. The blue jacket makes it easy to identify the cable in -i- type intrinsically safe systems. The cable is metered for convenient installation and use.

The cable meets the requirements of the Eca standard regarding reaction to fire (EN 13501-6) and is oil-resistant (to a large extent - detailed information in the technical documentation). The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances preventing paint adhesion. Remember to optimize EMC by ensuring a bilateral, extensive contact of the copper braid with the terminals during assembly.
