Shielded control cable PA.TR.-LI-2YCY – reliable signal transmission

This flexible control cable, designated as PA.TR.-LI-2YCY 4x2x0.5, is an ideal solution for transmitting signals in environments exposed to electromagnetic interference. The construction with double shielding – foil and braid – provides high resistance to interference, guaranteeing stable data transmission over significant distances. The cable is particularly recommended for RS 422 and RS 485 interfaces, where high speed and transmission reliability are crucial.

Construction and properties

The cable has been designed with durability and ease of installation in mind. It uses twisted pair copper conductors, which minimizes the impact of external disturbances. Each pair is surrounded by foil, and the entire cable is additionally protected by a copper braid, providing comprehensive protection against electromagnetic noise. The outer jacket made of PVC provides resistance to mechanical damage and atmospheric factors (indoors). This makes the cable suitable for both stationary and mobile installations, under medium mechanical load.

• Conductors: Stranded (class 2), made of bare copper, twisted in pairs to reduce interference.
• Insulation: Special polyethylene (PE) providing good dielectric properties.
• Shielding: Double-layer – aluminum foil and copper braid for maximum protection against interference.
• Outer jacket: PVC TM2 – resistant to abrasion and atmospheric factors (indoors).
• Conductor cross-section: 0.5 mm², providing adequate flexibility and ease of installation.
• Operating temperature: Flexibly from -5°C to +70°C and stationary from -30°C to +80°C – a wide temperature range allows the cable to be used in various environmental conditions.

The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and has a certificate of conformity with VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 concerning fire resistance (self-extinguishing outer jacket). The minimum bending radius is 12 x cable diameter during flexible operation and 7.5 x cable diameter during stationary laying. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 9.6 mm.
