Shielded control cable PA.TR.-LI-2YCYv – reliable signal transmission

This flexible control cable, designated PA.TR.-LI-2YCYv, is an ideal solution for transmitting signals in environments exposed to electromagnetic interference. Its construction with double shielding – foil and copper braid – provides high resistance to interference, guaranteeing stable data transmission over significant distances. The cable is particularly recommended for RS 422 and RS 485 interfaces, where connection reliability is crucial.

Construction and properties

The PA.TR.-LI-2YCYv cable has been designed with durability and ease of installation in mind. It consists of:

• Copper strands: multi-stranded, twisted in pairs to minimize the impact of interference. The strand construction meets the Termi-Point® requirements, enabling quick and solderless connections.

• PE insulation: special polyethylene providing good electrical insulation and cable flexibility.

• Shielding: double – aluminum foil and copper braid, effectively protecting against electromagnetic interference.

• PVC outer jacket: resistant to abrasion and weathering, ensuring cable durability.

Additionally, the cable is characterized by a wide range of operating temperatures: from -30°C to +80°C (after installation) and from -5°C to +70°C during installation, making it suitable for various industrial and commercial applications. The material does not contain silicone or cadmium, which affects its safety of use and has no impact on painting processes near the installation.

Technical characteristics

The PA.TR.-LI-2YCYv cable has the following features: it contains 16 cores arranged in 8 pairs, and the cross-section of each core is 0.5 mm². Its outer diameter is approximately 13.9 mm, and the operating voltage does not exceed 250 V – therefore it is not suitable for high-current applications. The cable retains its properties in a wide temperature range: from -30°C to +80°C after installation and from -5°C to +70°C during installation. The insulation resistance is minimum 5 GOhm x km, and the minimum bending radius is 7.5 x cable diameter for fixed installations and 12 x cable diameter for flexible applications.
