Flexible cable for chain guides – reliability in harsh conditions
This multi-core flexible cable, identified as HELUKABEL MULTIFLEX 512-PUR UL/CSA, is designed for demanding industrial applications, especially in cable carrier systems. It meets UL/CSA standards, guaranteeing its safety and compliance with international standards. This cable is a solid solution for both installers and end-users looking for a reliable connection in dynamic environments.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a construction that provides high flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage. Made of high-quality materials, such as polyurethane (PUR) as the outer jacket and special polypropylene (PP) as the core insulation, it offers long-lasting and trouble-free operation. Multi-strand copper conductors, class 6, provide good conductivity and resistance to bending. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire.
- Flexibility: The construction with multi-strand class 6 conductors provides exceptional flexibility, allowing for repeated bending without risk of damage. This is crucial in applications with cable carriers, where the cable is constantly in motion.
- Chemical resistance: The PUR jacket and PP insulation are resistant to oils, greases, acids, alkalis and many other chemicals. This allows the cable to be used in aggressive industrial environments.
- Weather resistance: The cable is resistant to UV radiation, ozone and weather conditions, allowing it to be used both indoors and outdoors.
- Safety: The halogen-free jacket minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire, increasing the safety of people and property.
- Core identification: Digital marking of the cores facilitates identification and connection of wires during installation.
Applications and parameters
This cable is widely used in the machine industry, robotics and the oil and gas sector. It is ideal for applications where high flexibility and resistance to external factors are required. Example applications include:
- Powering machines and equipment in production
- Industrial robotics
- Installations in cable carriers
- Drilling platforms and ships
- Chemical and petrochemical plants
The cable has 12 cores with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², allowing for the transmission of control signals and powering devices with low power consumption. The rated voltage is 600 V and the outer diameter is approximately 9.9 mm. The permissible operating temperature range is from -40°C to +80°C during installation and from -30°C to +90°C during operation (flexible). The minimum bending radius is 5x cable diameter during dynamic operation and 3x cable diameter during static laying.
