Cable for cable carriers – reliability in harsh conditions
This specialized PUR cable, designed for cable carriers, is engineered for demanding industrial and oil & gas applications. It meets UL/CSA standards, guaranteeing its safety and high quality. It is an ideal solution for both professional installers and end-users seeking reliable and durable cabling.
Construction and properties
The cable features a flexible construction with a multi-strand Class 6 copper conductor, providing high resistance to bending and twisting. Polypropylene (PP) insulation and a polyurethane (PUR) outer jacket provide excellent protection against mechanical, chemical, and environmental factors. The cores are twisted in layers with an optimal lay length, further increasing their durability. Available with (G) or without (x) a protective conductor.
The cable is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including oils, acids, alkalis, and seawater. It also has high resistance to UV radiation, ozone, and weathering. Additionally, it is halogen-free, increasing safety in the event of a fire. A special braid (from 4 mm²) provides additional mechanical protection.
Applications and benefits
This cable is used in:
- Machines and equipment: ideal for cable carriers in the production of machines and tools, robotics, and other constantly moving machine elements.
- Oil & gas sector: as a control and instrumentation cable on drilling platforms, ships, and in chemical and petrochemical plants.
- Outdoor installations: thanks to its weather resistance, it can be used outdoors.
- Industrial environments: anywhere that requires high mechanical and chemical resistance.
Key advantages:
- High flexibility: allows free routing in cable carriers without the risk of damaging the cores.
- Mechanical strength: resistance to abrasion, cuts, and tears ensures long-term operation.
- Chemical resistance: a wide range of chemical resistance allows use in harsh industrial conditions.
- Safety: halogen-free construction minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire.
- Compliance with standards: meets UL/CSA requirements, confirming its high quality and safety.
- Wide operating temperature range: from -40°C to +90°C (flexibly from -30°C to +90°C), allowing it to be used in various environmental conditions.
The conductor cross-section is 0.5 mm², and the outer diameter is approximately 12 mm. The rated voltage U is 600 V and the test voltage is 3000 V. The cable is available in gray (RAL 7001) with black cores marked with white numbers for easy identification.
