Chain guide cable – reliability in motion
This specialized PUR cable, designed for chain guides, is engineered for demanding industrial applications. It meets UL/CSA standards and features exceptional flexibility and resistance to external factors, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users. This cable is particularly recommended for use in machine production, robotics, and the oil and gas sector.
Construction and properties
The cable is constructed with 30 multi-strand copper conductors, class 6, providing high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during repeated bending. The core insulation is made of special polypropylene (PP), and each conductor is clearly marked with numbers for easy identification. The conductors are twisted in layers with an optimal pitch, and the entire cable is surrounded by a special braid (except for cables with a cross-section below 4 mm²). The outer jacket made of polyurethane (PUR) provides excellent protection against abrasion, cuts, tears, and the influence of oils, chemicals, and UV radiation. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, increasing safety in the event of a fire.
Applications and benefits
This cable finds wide application in industrial installations where high reliability and durability of connections are required. Thanks to UL/CSA certifications, it can be used in applications requiring compliance with stringent safety standards. It performs particularly well in cable carriers, where it is exposed to continuous bending and movement. Its resistance to aggressive chemical and mechanical environments makes it ideally suited for work on drilling platforms, in chemical plants, and in other difficult industrial conditions. The low adhesion of the PUR jacket facilitates pulling the cable through cable carriers and minimizes the risk of damage during installation.
- Mechanical strength: Resistant to abrasion, cuts and tears – guarantees long-term operation even in demanding conditions.
- Chemical resistance: Withstands contact with oils, chemicals, seawater and other aggressive substances.
- Safety: Halogen-free material reduces the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire.
- Flexibility: Multi-strand conductor construction provides high flexibility and facilitates installation in tight spaces.
- Conductor identification: Digital printing facilitates correct connection of wires.
- Wide temperature range: Operation from -40°C to +90°C guarantees reliability in various environmental conditions.
- Compliance with standards: UL/CSA certificates confirm compliance with stringent safety standards.
The cable is available in gray (RAL 7001) with black conductors marked with white numbers for easy identification. The outer diameter is approximately 16.2 mm with a conductor cross-section of 0.75 mm². The rated voltage U is 600 V and the maximum test voltage is 3000 V.
