Cable carriers for demanding applications

This high-quality m.FLEX 512-PUR cable, designed for cable carriers, is engineered for reliability and durability in harsh industrial environments. It meets UL/CSA standards, confirming its safety and compliance with international standards. It is ideally suited for applications requiring high flexibility and installations exposed to external factors.

Construction and properties

The cable features a robust construction based on a multi-strand copper conductor, class 6, providing high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue. Polypropylene (PP) insulation guarantees good electrical insulation, and the outer polyurethane (PUR) coating provides resistance to abrasion, cuts, tearing, and the action of oils, chemicals, and UV radiation. The gray PUR coating further increases the visibility of the cable in difficult lighting conditions. The cable is halogen-free, increasing safety in the event of a fire.

The application of a special braid (from 4 mm² diameter no braid) under the PUR coating further strengthens the construction and protects the conductors from mechanical damage. The conductors are twisted in layers with an optimal pitch, minimizing the risk of electromagnetic interference. A protective conductor (G) or without (x) version is available.

Parameters and applications

The cable has a cross-section of 1.5 mm² and a rated voltage of 600 V. It is designed to operate at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (during installation) and from -30°C to +90°C (in continuous operation). Its outer diameter is approximately 28.9 mm. This cable is used in:

• Machines and equipment: ideal for cable carriers in the production of machines and tools, robotics and other constantly moving machine elements.
• Oil and gas sector: as a control and instrumentation cable on drilling platforms, ships and in chemical and petrochemical plants – resistance to drilling fluids (NEK TS 606) makes it an ideal choice for these demanding applications.
