Flexible cable for energy chains – reliability in harsh conditions
This grey HELUKABEL M.FLEX 512-PUR series flexible cable, designed for operation at 500V, is an ideal solution for demanding industrial applications. Designed for use in cable carriers, it provides reliable connections in machines and equipment exposed to continuous movement and mechanical stress. Its construction and materials guarantee high resistance to external factors, as well as long life even in extreme conditions.
Construction and properties
This cable is distinguished by carefully selected materials and advanced construction. Multi-wire copper conductors, class 6 (very flexible), provide excellent flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during repeated bending. The polypropylene (PP) insulation is resistant to abrasion and cuts, and the conductors are additionally numbered for easy identification. The whole is surrounded by a durable, halogen-free polyurethane (PUR) coating that protects against the influence of oils, chemicals, UV radiation and weather conditions. A braid between the layers increases the mechanical strength of the cable.
The cable has 7 cores with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², allowing it to be used in a variety of electrical installations. The rated voltage of 600V ensures safe use, and the wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +80°C (during installation from -30°C to +80°C) allows it to be used in difficult environmental conditions. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 13.8 mm.
Applications and benefits
This cable is widely used in industry, especially in machines and equipment exposed to continuous movement, such as industrial robots or conveyor belts. It is also ideal for applications in the oil and gas sector, where high resistance to an aggressive chemical environment and drilling fluids is required.
- Mechanical strength: The cable construction provides high resistance to bending, twisting and stretching, which translates to a long service life even in the most demanding applications.
- Chemical resistance: The PUR coating protects against the influence of oils, chemicals, lubricants and other aggressive substances.
- Safety: The halogen-free coating material limits the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire.
- Versatility: The wide operating temperature range allows the cable to be used both indoors and outdoors.
- Compliance with standards: The cable meets UL/CSA and IEC/DIN standards, guaranteeing its safety and quality confirmed by DNV GL (Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyd) certificates.
- Easy identification: Numbered cores facilitate installation and servicing.
