Cable chain wire – reliability in dynamic applications

This specialized shielded wire, designed for use in cable chains, is characterized by exceptional flexibility and resistance to external factors. Designed to operate in harsh conditions, it is perfect for both industrial installations and robotic applications. Its construction ensures reliable signal transmission and long service life, even with frequent bending and movements.

Construction and properties

The wire is characterized by an advanced construction that guarantees its high performance. The core consists of 18 copper strands, twisted strands for increased flexibility (class 6 according to DIN VDE 0295). Each strand is insulated with polypropylene (PP) and color-coded according to DIN 47100, making identification easier. The strands are twisted in parallel, which optimizes the length and minimizes the risk of interference. The whole is protected by a braided screen made of tinned copper wires (coverage approx. 85%), providing high effectiveness in suppressing electromagnetic interference (EMC). An additional layer of non-woven fabric protects the strands from mechanical damage, and the outer coating made of polyurethane (PUR) ensures resistance to abrasion, oils, hydrolysis and UV radiation.

The wire is metered and available in gray (RAL 7001). The materials used in its production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances hindering painting. It also has a flame-retardant outer PUR coating meeting the standards DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1-2.

Thanks to its high flexibility, the wire copes perfectly with frequent bending and mechanical stress. Its shielding ensures reliable signal transmission without interference. The minimum bending radius is 7.5x the cable diameter for flexible operation and 4x the cable diameter for stationary operation. The nominal voltage is 300V and the strand/strand test voltage is as high as 1500V.
