Cable chain wire – reliability in dynamic applications
This specialized wire, with a rated voltage of 350 V, is designed for demanding applications in cable chains. Its construction and materials guarantee exceptional flexibility and durability, making it an ideal choice for the machinery industry, robotics, and all types of equipment exposed to continuous bending and movement. The wire is metered, making it easy to precisely adapt to installation needs.
Construction and properties
The wire stands out with its advanced construction, which ensures its reliability in harsh conditions. It uses class 6 fine-stranded twisted copper wire, providing high flexibility. The PVC TI2 insulation is characterized by improved slip properties. Parallel twisted strands with an optimal twist pitch, wrapped with a textile tape, provide additional protection against mechanical damage. The whole is surrounded by a special TMPU polyurethane outer jacket, resistant to abrasion, tearing and oil exposure. A matte gray coating (RAL 7001) provides an aesthetic appearance and easy identification.
This wire also features high resistance to UV radiation, oxygen, ozone and hydrolysis. It is conditionally resistant to microbes and hydraulic coolants. The materials used in production are silicone, cadmium and paint-inhibiting substance-free. Using this wire translates into a longer installation life and minimizes the risk of downtime related to failures.
Applications and technical parameters
Designed to operate in temperatures from -5°C to +70°C (flexible) and from -40°C to +70°C (stationary), the wire meets the standards DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51. Its minimum bending radius is 5 x cable diameter for flexible operation and 3 x cable diameter for fixed laying. The insulation resistance is min. 20 MOhm x km, and the test voltage is 1500 V with a breakdown voltage of min. 3000 V. The nominal conductor cross-section is 0.14 mm², and the approximate outer diameter is 3.7 mm. The jacket/insulation color is gray, and the wire identification is done using colors according to DIN VDE 47100.
