Frequency inverter cable – protection and reliability
This double-shielded 0.6/1kV cable, with an outer diameter of approximately 60.6 mm, is designed for demanding applications related to frequency inverters. Its construction provides not only safe and efficient power transmission but also minimizes electromagnetic interference, which is crucial in modern industrial installations. This cable is ideal for both professional installers and end-users looking for a reliable solution.
Construction and properties
The cable consists of four copper conductors with a cross-section of 185 mm², made in flexible stranded technology (class 5). Each conductor is insulated with polyethylene (PE), which ensures high voltage strength and low dielectric losses. The conductors are twisted concentrically and protected by two shields – an aluminum foil and a braid of copper wires. This effectively suppresses electromagnetic interference (EMC), protecting sensitive devices from its effects. The outer jacket is made of PVC (black, RAL 9005) and provides resistance to weather conditions and mechanical damage. Additionally, the cable is UV-resistant, allowing it to be used in outdoor installations.
Applications and benefits
This cable is widely used in the machinery, metallurgical, food, packaging industries, and in industrial automation. It is particularly recommended for powering motors connected to frequency inverters. Its flexibility makes installation easier even in hard-to-reach places, and its resistance to external conditions allows it to be used both indoors and outdoors. Low mutual capacitance and low coupling resistance guarantee high electromagnetic compatibility, minimizing the risk of interference with device operation. It meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0250 and EN 55011 standards.
- Double shielding: Provides effective protection against electromagnetic interference (EMC).
- UV resistance: Allows the cable to be used in outdoor installations without fear of material degradation.
- Flexible construction: Facilitates installation and adaptation to various installation configurations.
- PE insulation: Ensures high voltage strength and low dielectric losses.
- Wide operating temperature range: From -40°C to +80°C (during installation: -5°C to +80°C) guarantees reliable operation in various environmental conditions.
- Compliance with standards: Meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0250 and EN 55011, confirming its safety and quality.
- Halogen-free: Materials used in production do not contain halogens, increasing safety.
