Frequency inverter cable – reliability and EMC compatibility

This flexible 0.6/1kV cable, designated 2YSLCYK-J TF-EMV-UV-3PLUS, is designed for demanding applications powering motors controlled by frequency inverters. The cable's construction minimizes electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable and efficient device operation. It is an ideal solution for both installers and end-users looking for a reliable connection in industrial automation systems.

The cable features double shielding – a braid of aluminum tape and a tinned copper screen – which effectively reduces interference emission and provides high resistance to external influences. Made of high-quality materials, including multi-wire copper conductors class 5, PE insulation, and an outer PVC jacket, it guarantees long-lasting and safe operation. The PE protective conductors are twisted and placed outside the construction, further increasing safety.

Construction and properties ensuring performance

The cable stands out with its unique 3 PLUS construction, which involves a symmetrical arrangement of three core conductors. This solution improves electromagnetic compatibility compared to standard four-core cables. Additionally, the cable is UV-resistant and characterized by low working capacitance and coupling impedance, which translates to minimizing energy losses and stable system operation. The materials used in production are silicone, cadmium and paint-inhibiting substance free.

The use of a special polyolefin outer jacket provides fire resistance and increases safety. The cable is designed to operate in a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +70°C (stationary) and from -5°C to +90°C (flexible). The minimum bending radius is 5x the cable diameter (stationary installation) and 10x the cable diameter (mobile installation), making installation easier even in tight spaces. The cable is metered for ease of use.

Applications in industry and beyond

This cable finds wide application in the automotive, food, packaging, industrial automation and environmental protection systems. It is ideal for SIMOVERT drives, pumps, fans, conveyor belts and air conditioning installations. It can be laid in dry, damp and wet rooms as well as outdoors. Thanks to its properties, it is perfectly suited for cabling frequency inverters with medium mechanical load where there are no tensile stresses.
