High-temperature resistant PVC cable – reliability in harsh conditions

This flexible HELUTHERM® 120 cable, made of special PVC, is designed to operate at elevated temperatures. Compliance with DIN VDE 0285-525-2-11 / DIN EN 50525-2-11 standards guarantees its reliability and safety. This cable is an ideal solution where standard cables fail – in machines, devices and motors operating at high temperatures, such as paint shops or dryers. It will work in dry, damp and wet rooms, as well as outdoors.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction. Its multi-strand, flexible copper conductors (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295) ensure good conductivity and easy installation. The core insulation is made of high-temperature PVC (TI3), and the outer jacket of heat-resistant PVC (TM3). The cores are identified by colors according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – colored up to 5 cores, black with white numbering above 6 cores. In the version with a protective conductor (G), it is located on the outside, which facilitates identification. The cable is metered for convenient dispensing of the required length.

Thanks to the materials used, this cable is resistant to radiation up to 80 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (80 Mrad) and does not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that interfere with painting. It also has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. The cable is self-extinguishing and flame-retardant, tested according to VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1-2.

Operating parameters and scope of applications

The HELUTHERM® 120 cable maintains flexibility in the temperature range from -5°C to +105°C, and in stationary mode from -30°C to +105°C (short-term up to +120°C). The rated voltage U is 500 V for a cross-section of 1 mm², and for larger cross-sections – up to 750 V. The minimum bending radius is 7.5 x outer diameter for flexible operation and 4 x outer diameter for stationary operation. The nominal core cross-section is 1 mm², and the approximate outer diameter is 15.4 mm. It is intended for applications requiring high thermal and mechanical resistance, providing safe and reliable electrical connections in harsh industrial conditions.
