JB-500 flexible cable is a reliable solution for electrical connections in demanding conditions. Construction and properties

The JB-500 cable has 9 copper conductors, twisted according to DIN VDE 0295 class 5, BS 6360 class 5 and IEC 60228 class 5 standards. Each conductor is insulated with special PVC (Z 7225), and the conductors are color-coded for easy identification. The protective conductor (in versions with a yellow-green conductor) is placed close to the outer jacket for increased safety. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer jacket made of PVC (TM2), providing resistance to oils, chemicals and UV radiation. The cable is metered, which makes it easier to precisely adjust the length to the needs of the installation.

Application and operating parameters

This cable is widely used in mechanical engineering, metallurgy and air conditioning. It is perfect for control, signaling and measurement systems, especially in conveyors and technological lines. Thanks to its flexibility, it is ideal for movable connections where tensile stresses do not occur. It can be used in dry, damp and wet rooms – but not outdoors.

This cable is characterized by a rated voltage of 500 V and a wide range of operating temperatures – from -40°C to +80°C in stationary mode and from -15°C to +80°C during installation. The cross-section of a single conductor is 1 mm², and the outer diameter of the cable is approximately 9.6 mm. The resistance to radiation reaches 80 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 80 Mrad), and the minimum bending radius is 7.5 x cable diameter (flexible) or 4 x cable diameter (for fixed installation).

The JB-500 cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-2-11/DIN EN 50525-2-11 standards and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. The materials used are free of silicone, cadmium and substances that interfere with painting. The PVC coating is self-extinguishing and flame-retardant, tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 and DIN EN 60332-1-2/IEC 60332-1 standards.
