Flexible shielded cable for industrial and domestic applications

This black, shielded flexible cable OZ-500-C with a cross-section of 3x2.5 mm² is a reliable solution for power supply and control in various installations. The cable is designed for durability and safety, meeting the requirements of both professional installers and end-users. Thanks to its shielding, it provides reduction of electromagnetic interference, which is particularly important in industrial environments.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction, based on multi-strand copper conductors (class 5), providing high flexibility and resistance to mechanical fatigue. The core insulation made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) guarantees good electrical insulation and resistance to chemicals. The cores are marked with numbers for easy identification during installation. The screen in the form of a braid of copper wires effectively minimizes the impact of electromagnetic interference on the transmitted signals. The outer jacket made of special PVC TM2 provides protection against mechanical damage and weather conditions. The cable is metered, which makes it easy to precisely adjust the length to the needs of a specific application.

Additionally, the cable is oil-resistant and resistant to many chemical compounds – making it an ideal choice for harsh working conditions. The materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that interfere with painting, and the whole is resistant to UV radiation. The cable has passed PVC self-extinguishing and flame-retardant tests in accordance with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 and DIN EN 60332-1-2/IEC 60332-1 standards.

Applications and technical parameters

The OZ-500-C cable is used in medium mechanically stressed flexible connections where tensile stresses do not occur. It can be used in dry, damp and wet rooms, as well as outdoors (excluding laying directly in the ground or water). It is ideal for use in mechanical engineering – control, signaling and measurements on production lines and conveyor belts.

Key operating parameters include a rated voltage of 500 V and a rated core cross-section of 2.5 mm². The cable maintains flexibility in the temperature range of -15°C to +80°C, and after permanent installation it can operate at a temperature of -40°C to +80°C. Its approximate outer diameter is 9.8 mm. The insulation resistance is minimum 20 MOhm x km, and the coupling resistance maximum 250 Ohm/km. The minimum bending radius during flexible operation is 10 times the cable diameter, and for permanent installation – 5 times the cable diameter.

The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and has a fire reaction class of Eca.
