This flexible shielded cable, catalog number 17048, is an ideal solution for data transmission and control systems. The cable is designed for areas exposed to electromagnetic interference, ensuring a stable and reliable signal. The construction with twisted pairs minimizes interference, and the copper screen effectively protects against external disturbances – which will be appreciated by both installers and end users.

Construction and properties

The PAAR-TRONIC-CY cable is characterized by a solid construction. It is made of multi-strand copper conductors (class 5), which gives it high flexibility and resistance to bending. The conductors are insulated with PVC, and the whole is surrounded by a copper braid screen. This braid, covering approximately 85% of the surface, provides protection and can be used as an earthing conductor. The outer sheath made of PVC TM2 provides resistance to mechanical damage as well as chemical and oil substances. The cable is available in gray (RAL 7032), but other colors can be obtained on request.

The cable is distinguished by the following features: the conductor cross-section is 0.75 mm², which provides adequate current carrying capacity for control and signaling applications; it maintains its properties over a wide temperature range – from -30°C to +80°C (for fixed installation) and from -5°C to +80°C during dynamic operation; exhibits resistance to radiation up to 80 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (80 Mrad); meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0812 and 0814, and also has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the low-voltage directive 2014/35/EU; its flexibility allows for easy installation even in tight spaces – the minimum bending radius is 10x the cable diameter during dynamic operation and 5x for fixed installation.

Application and benefits

The PAAR-TRONIC-CY cable is primarily used as a control and signal cable in dry, damp and wet rooms (but not outdoors). It is particularly recommended in places exposed to strong electromagnetic interference. Twisting the wires in pairs reduces susceptibility to noise, and the screen provides additional protection against interference. This makes the cable ideal for industrial automation installations, monitoring systems or precision devices. In addition, the materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances that interfere with painting.
