Shielded installation cable – reliable protection and interference reduction
This shielded installation cable (N)YM(ST)-J 5G2,5/1,5 is the ideal solution wherever high resistance to electromagnetic interference is required. The use of an aluminum screen effectively minimizes the influence of external fields, making it indispensable in installations powering sensitive electronics. This cable is particularly recommended for use in residential buildings, hospitals, laboratories, as well as in computer workstations and industrial measuring stations.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of high-quality materials, guaranteeing its durability and reliability. Copper conductors, available in single-wire or multi-wire versions (according to DIN VDE 0295 and IEC 60228 standards), are insulated with PVC (TI1 according to DIN VDE 0207-363-4-1 / DIN EN 50363-4-1). Colored conductors facilitate identification during installation. Twisted conductors in parallel and an additional protective conductor increase safety. The whole is surrounded by an aluminum foil screen and a durable outer PVC coating (TM1 according to DIN VDE 0207-363-4-1 / DIN EN 50363-4-1) in gray (RAL 7035).
The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0250 part 204 and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. It is resistant to radiation up to 80 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (80 Mrad) and is self-extinguishing and flame-retardant (tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1).
Operating parameters and installation
The cable is designed to operate at temperatures from -40°C to +70°C (stationary) and from +5°C to +70°C (flexible). The rated voltage is 300/500V, and the test voltage is 2000V. The minimum bending radius for fixed installation is 4 x cable diameter. The cable can be laid in dry and damp rooms, surface-mounted and in concrete (excluding direct embedding in single-fraction aggregate, vibrated concrete or rammed concrete). Use outdoors requires protection from UV radiation or laying in cable ducts. It must not be used in hazardous areas.
