Cable for photovoltaic installations – reliability and durability

This single-core SOLARFLEX®-X H1Z2Z2-K cable with a cross-section of 4 mm² in red, is specifically designed for photovoltaic systems. Manufactured in accordance with EN 50618 standard, it ensures safe and efficient connections between photovoltaic panels and other installation elements. This cable is particularly recommended for outdoor use, as well as for direct burial in the ground – although the use of protective conduits is recommended for additional protection.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by double insulation, which increases its safety and allows it to be used in systems with protective insulation (II protection class). The multi-strand, tinned copper core provides good flexibility and reliable connections. The materials used in production are resistant to UV radiation, ozone and weather conditions, guaranteeing a long service life even in harsh operating conditions. The maximum permissible DC system voltage must not exceed 1.8 kV.

Application and benefits

The SOLARFLEX®-X cable is suitable for both domestic and industrial installations. Its water resistance (AD8 – protection against immersion) and wide operating temperature range (from -40°C to +90°C stationary) make it an ideal solution for various mounting conditions. Thanks to the CPR class Dca-s2, d2, a1, it meets strict fire safety standards. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire. The cable's service life is estimated at a minimum of 25 years under appropriate operating conditions.
