High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This 24-core HELUTHERM SiHF cable, with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², is a solution for demanding applications where standard cabling fails. Designed to operate in an extended temperature range, from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C), it guarantees continuous operation even in the most extreme industrial conditions. The cable is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors, making it an ideal choice for both installers and end-users.
Construction and properties
The HELUTHERM SiHF cable features an advanced construction ensuring long-lasting and safe operation. Made of stranded copper conductors, twisted according to DIN VDE 0295 class 5, it has high-temperature silicone insulation. The conductors are colored according to DIN VDE 0293-308 (up to 5 cores colored, above 5 cores – black with white numbering), and the protective conductor (available in a version with a protective conductor) is yellow-green. The whole is surrounded by a special, abrasion and chemical resistant silicone outer jacket in brick red color.
The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83. It is halogen-free (according to VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-2 / IEC 60754-2), which increases safety in the event of a fire – during combustion it emits only SiO₂ (silicon dioxide). Additionally, the cable is resistant to radiation up to 20 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 20 Mrad).
