Silicone cable for extreme conditions
This four-core HELUTHERM SiHF cable with a cross-section of 35 mm² is a solution for demanding applications where standard cables fail. Made of high-quality silicone, it provides reliable operation in a wide temperature range – from -60°C to +180°C, and briefly up to +220°C. It is an ideal choice where temperature is a key factor and cable flexibility is important.
This cable stands out not only for its thermal resistance but also for a number of other features that will be appreciated by both installers and end-users. The construction with a multi-strand class 5 core provides good flexibility and facilitates installation. The cores are color-coded according to DIN VDE 0293-308, which simplifies identification and connection. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire – during combustion, it releases SiO₂ insulation instead of toxic gases.
Construction and application
The HELUTHERM SiHF cable is designed to operate in extreme industrial conditions. It will be useful in power plants, steelworks, shipyards, or cement plants. Thanks to its resistance to oils, greases, acids and other chemicals, it can be used in harsh environments. It should be remembered that this type of cable has limited mechanical strength – they are flexible connection cables designed for specific applications.
The cable has a yellow-green protective core for increased safety. Its rated voltage is 300/500V, and the outer diameter is approximately 29.1 mm. Radiation resistance reaches 20 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 20 Mrad). Compliance with DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83 standards guarantees high quality and safety of use. The cable is metered for convenient dispensing of the required length.
It is worth paying attention to the recommendations regarding installation – the cable should be laid in open or ventilated cable ducts, and in the case of unventilated rooms with high temperatures (above 90°C), the reduced mechanical strength of the silicone should be taken into account.
