High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This multi-core HELUTHERM SiHF cable, with insulation made of special silicone, is designed to operate in demanding industrial environments and beyond. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal choice for applications where standard cables fail. This cable complies with DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83 standards, guaranteeing safety and reliability.
Construction and properties
The HELUTHERM SiHF cable stands out with its careful construction. It consists of flexible, multi-strand copper conductors, twisted to ensure flexibility and durability of connections. Each conductor is insulated with special silicone rubber, which provides excellent dielectric properties and resistance to extreme temperatures – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). The outer jacket made of silicone in brick color further protects the cable from external factors. The cable is available in a version with a green-yellow protective conductor (G marking).
Applications and benefits
This cable finds wide application in many industries:
- Metallurgical and foundry industry: thanks to its resistance to high temperatures.
- Glass and ceramics factories: where exposure to extreme heat occurs.
- Cement plants: requiring reliability in harsh conditions.
- Shipbuilding industry: resistance to moisture and atmospheric factors.
- Power plants: ensuring safe power supply in critical applications.
- Lighting devices and installations: where a high ignition temperature is required.
Additional advantages:
- Halogen-free: increased fire safety – in accordance with VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-2 / IEC 60754-2 standards. In the event of a fire, the insulation remains SiO₂ which minimizes the emission of toxic gases.
- Chemical resistance: to oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, acids, alkalis and oxidizing agents.
- Flexibility: facilitates installation and routing of cables in tight spaces.
- Wide operating temperature range: from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C) ensures reliable operation in all conditions.
- Radiation resistance: up to 20 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 20 Mrad).
This cable is an investment in the safety and long-term reliability of electrical installations in demanding industrial environments and everywhere else where standard solutions fail.
