Silicone cable for extreme conditions

This black, four-core silicone cable with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² is designed for applications requiring high thermal resistance and flexibility. It meets UL/CSA standards, guaranteeing its reliability and safety in various industrial applications. This cable stands out for its exceptional temperature resistance, both under continuous operation and short-term loads.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a construction that ensures long-term and safe operation. Tinned copper conductors, manufactured in accordance with DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228 standards, guarantee good conductivity and corrosion resistance. Silicone insulation provides excellent dielectric properties and resistance to high temperatures – up to +180°C in continuous operation and up to +220°C for short periods. Additionally, the cable remains flexible even at low temperatures, down to -60°C. Conductor marking according to DIN VDE 0293-308 (colored or with white numbering) facilitates identification during installation. A yellow-green protective conductor (from 3 cores and more) increases safety.

Applications and benefits

The HELUTHERM SiHF-UL/CSA cable is used in a wide range of industries where extreme thermal conditions prevail: power plants, steel industry, aviation, shipbuilding, ceramics, glass and cement plants. Thanks to its high flexibility, it is ideal as a flexible connection cable. Its halogen-free construction (compliant with DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1) ensures safety in the event of a fire – a SiO2 coating remains during combustion. The cable is also resistant to many chemical substances, such as oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, and diluted acids and alkalis. Additionally, it meets the standards for flame retardancy (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1 and CSA FT1). The approximate outer diameter of the cable is 11.6 mm and the rated voltage U is 500V.
