Silicone cable for extreme conditions
This 10-core silicone cable is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cables fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal choice for industrial, power and aerospace applications. The silicone construction provides flexibility and reliability of connections, even with frequent bending.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of multi-strand copper conductors (class 5), insulated with silicone. The cores are twisted longitudinally, and a protective core (yellow-green) is present from 3 cores upwards. The whole is surrounded by a black silicone coating, providing additional mechanical and chemical protection. The cable meets UL Style 4476 and CSA AWM II A/B standards, guaranteeing its high quality and safety. The use of silicone as an insulating material translates into good dielectric properties and resistance to aging. In the event of a fire on the cores, a SiO2 coating remains, increasing the safety of the installation.
Applications and benefits
The cable finds application in a wide range of industries: power plants, steel industry, aerospace, shipbuilding, metallurgy (ceramics, glass, cement plants). It is perfect as a flexible connecting cable in places exposed to extreme temperatures - from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). Additionally, it is resistant to oils, greases, solvents, acids, alkalis and atmospheric conditions. Its halogen-free construction (compliant with DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1) minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire. The cable does not spread flames (compliant with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1 and CSA FT1).
