Extreme temperature silicone wire
This specialized silicone wire, characterized by high temperature resistance, is designed to operate in demanding conditions. It meets UL Style 4476 and CSA AWM II A/B standards, guaranteeing its reliability and safety. It is an ideal solution for both professional installers and end-users looking for wires with exceptional parameters.
### Construction and properties
The wire consists of a multi-strand, tinned copper core (class 5 – flexible) surrounded by silicone insulation. The strands are longitudinally twisted, and in the 3-core version, there is a yellow-green protective earth wire. The whole is covered with an outer jacket of black silicone. This construction provides flexibility, durability and resistance to external factors.
The wire retains its properties over a wide temperature range – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). It is resistant to UV radiation, oils, greases, alcohols, acids, alkalis and weathering. Additionally, it is halogen-free, which increases safety and minimizes the emission of toxic substances in the event of a fire. In the event of ignition, it leaves only a SiO2 coating.
### Applications and benefits
This wire is used in many industries, including:
* Power plants
Steel industry
Aerospace industry
Shipyards
Glass and ceramics industry
Cement industry
High-temperature lighting
Heating devices
Thanks to its high flexibility, it is ideal as a connecting wire in areas exposed to movement and bending. Its resistance to extreme temperatures makes it indispensable in applications requiring reliability in harsh working conditions. Compliance with UL/CSA standards confirms its quality and safety. In addition, the absence of halogen in the materials minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation during a fire.
Technical parameters are woven into the description: The wire has 3 cores with a nominal cross-section of 1.5 mm², is designed to operate at a nominal voltage of 500 V and its outer diameter is approximately 9.6 mm. The operating temperature range is from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). The core insulation is made of silicone, and the outer jacket is also made of black silicone. Core identification is done using colors in accordance with DIN VDE 0293-308 (black or colored with white numbering).
