Silicone cable for extreme conditions
This three-core silicone cable with a cross-section of 25 mm² is a solution for demanding applications where standard cables fail. Designed to operate in a wide temperature range – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C) – it ensures reliable operation even in the most extreme conditions. The cable meets UL Style 4476 and CSA AWM II A/B standards, guaranteeing its high quality and safety.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a construction ensuring long-term and trouble-free operation. Tinned copper conductors, made in accordance with DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360, IEC 60228 standards, are characterized by high flexibility (class 5). The conductor insulation made of silicone provides excellent dielectric properties and resistance to high temperatures. The conductors are twisted longitudinally, and the protective conductor (green-yellow) is present from the three-wire version. The whole is surrounded by a black silicone outer jacket. The use of silicone as the insulation and outer jacket material translates into exceptional resistance to external factors – oils, greases, acids, alkalis, UV radiation and weather conditions. The cable is also halogen-free and flame retardant (compliant with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1 and CSA FT1 standards).
Applications and benefits
This cable finds application in many industries: power plants, steel industry, aviation, shipbuilding, as well as in glass, ceramics and cement plants. It is ideal as a flexible connection cable where resistance to extreme temperatures and aggressive environments is required. Thanks to the high flashpoint and self-extinguishing properties, it increases the safety of the installation. In addition, in the event of a fire on the conductors, a SiO₂ coating remains, which further limits the spread of fire. Conductor identification is in accordance with DIN VDE 0293-308 – conductors are black or colored with white numbering (in the two-wire version brown and blue). The approximate outer diameter of the cable is 27 mm and the rated voltage U is 500V.
