Silicone cable, resistant to high temperatures acc. to UL/CSA SiHF UL/CSA 3G6mm² black, wire identification acc. to DIN VDE 0293-308 23271

Silicone cable for extreme conditions

This 3-core silicone cable, with a cross-section of 6mm², is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, as well as aggressive chemicals and radiation. It is an ideal solution for both professional installers and end-users looking for reliable and durable cabling.

Construction and properties

The cable is made of multi-strand copper conductors (class 5), providing flexibility and ease of installation. The insulation of the cores and the outer jacket are made of silicone, which guarantees temperature resistance in the range of -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). The cores are twisted longitudinally, and the protective conductor (yellow-green) is present from 3 cores upwards. Core marking is done in accordance with DIN VDE 0293-308 – black or colored with white numbering. The cable has a rated voltage of 500V and a test voltage of 2000V. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 15.1 mm.

Applications and benefits

This cable finds wide application in industries where extreme conditions prevail:

  • Power plants: thanks to its resistance to high temperatures and halogen-free properties, the cable is safe to use in critical energy applications.
  • Steel, aerospace and shipbuilding industries: provides reliable connections in difficult mechanical and thermal conditions.
  • Ceramics, glass and cement plants: resistance to high temperatures and aggressive chemicals makes the cable perfectly suited for these industries.
  • Flexible connections: the high flexibility of the silicone insulation allows the cable to be used as a flexible connection in moving devices or those exposed to vibration.
  • Safety: the cable is halogen-free (compliant with DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1) and does not spread flames (compliant with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1 and CSA FT1), which increases the safety of the installation.
  • Chemical resistance: exhibits resistance to mineral oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, diluted acids and alkalis, and many other chemicals.
  • Radiation resistance: withstands irradiation up to 20x10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 20 Mrad).

The cable meets UL Style 4476 and CSA AWM II A/B standards, confirming its high quality and safety of use. It is a product compliant with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
