Silicone cable for extreme conditions

This black, multi-strand silicone cable is designed for operation in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal choice for industrial and specialized applications. The cable meets UL/CSA standards, guaranteeing safety and reliable operation.

Construction and properties

The cable is made of tinned copper strands (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 cl.5 and IEC 60228), which ensures flexibility and good conductivity. The strand insulation is made of silicone, and the outer jacket is also made of silicone, providing resistance to chemicals, UV radiation and extreme temperatures. The strands are twisted longitudinally, and a protective conductor (yellow-green) is present from 3 strands upwards. Strand identification is done by color according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – black or colored with white numbering.

This cable is distinguished by a wide range of permissible operating temperatures: from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). It is also resistant to many oils, greases, solvents and chemicals. Additionally, it is halogen-free (compliant with DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1), which increases safety in the event of a fire – during combustion it leaves only a SiO2 coating. The cable does not propagate flames (compliant with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1 and CSA FT1).
