Silicone cable for extreme conditions

This black, multi-strand silicone cable is designed for operation in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by high thermal resistance and flexibility, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users who need a reliable solution. The cable meets UL/CSA standards, guaranteeing safety and compliance with international standards.

### Construction and properties

The cable is made of tinned copper conductors (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 cl.5 and IEC 60228), surrounded by silicone insulation. The strands are twisted longitudinally, and the protective conductor (yellow-green) is present from 3 strands upwards. The whole is covered with a durable, black silicone coating. This construction provides not only excellent electrical properties but also resistance to a wide range of external factors. Conductor identification is done using colors according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – black or colored with white numbering (brown and blue in the two-core version).

This cable is distinguished by its exceptional resistance to:

* High temperatures: constant temperature up to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C), and low temperatures down to -60°C.

  • Chemical factors: oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, plasticizers, diluted acids and alkalis, oxidizing agents and atmospheric conditions.

  • Radiation: up to 20x10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 20 Mrad).

  • Flames: does not spread flames according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1 and CSA FT1. It is also halogen-free (compliant with DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1).

Additionally, it is characterized by good dielectric properties and a high ignition temperature – in the event of a fire on the conductors, a SiO₂ coating remains.

This cable finds application in many industries, including: power plants, steel industry, aviation, shipbuilding, and ceramics, glass and cement plants. It is ideal as a flexible connection cable in places requiring high thermal and mechanical resistance.
