Extreme applications silicone cable
This 5-core silicone cable, with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², is designed to operate in demanding temperature conditions. It is characterized by high heat resistance, flexibility and the absence of halogens in its composition, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users who need a reliable solution in harsh environments. The cable meets UL/CSA standards, guaranteeing safety and high quality workmanship.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of multi-strand copper conductors (class 5), providing good flexibility and ease of installation. The insulation of the cores and the outer jacket are made of silicone, which ensures resistance to temperatures from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). The cores are twisted longitudinally, and the protective conductor (yellow-green) is present from 3 cores upwards. Core marking is done according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – black or colored with white numbering. The cable has an outer diameter of approximately 11.4 mm.
Applications and benefits
The HELUTHERM SiHF-UL/CSA cable is used in a wide range of industries, including:
- Power plants: Thanks to the absence of halogens and high temperature resistance, it is safe in critical applications.
- Steel, aerospace and shipbuilding industries: Resistance to extreme conditions guarantees reliable operation in harsh industrial environments.
- Ceramics, glass and cement plants: Resistance to high temperatures and chemicals makes the cable perfect for these applications.
- Flexible connections: High flexibility of silicone insulation makes it easy to route cables in tight spaces and ensures durable connections.
- Applications requiring chemical resistance: The cable is resistant to oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, diluted acids and alkalis, and many other chemicals.
Additionally, the cable has good dielectric properties and UV resistance. In the event of a fire, it leaves a SiO2 coating behind, which increases safety. It meets DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 and CSA FT1 standards, confirming its flame retardancy.
