Silicone cable for extreme conditions
This 5-core silicone cable with a cross-section of 10 mm² is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cables fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, as well as to various chemical and mechanical factors. Ideal for both professional installers and end-users who need a reliable solution in difficult conditions.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of high-quality materials, ensuring its long-lasting and safe operation. Tinned copper conductors, in accordance with DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228 class 5 standards, guarantee good conductivity and flexibility. The core insulation is made of silicone, providing resistance to high temperatures – up to +180°C continuously and up to +220°C briefly – and maintaining properties at low temperatures (down to -60°C). Additionally, the outer silicone coating provides resistance to many chemical substances, weather conditions and UV radiation.
The cable has core markings according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – black or colored with white numbering (in the case of a two-core version, brown and blue). The yellow-green protective conductor is standard for 3-core and more versions. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 22.1 mm.
Applications and benefits
This cable finds wide application in many industries:
- Power plants: thanks to the absence of halogens and high thermal resistance.
- Steel, aerospace and shipbuilding industries: due to mechanical strength and resistance to external factors.
- Ceramics, glass and cement plants: where extreme temperatures and dust occur.
- Flexible connections: thanks to the high flexibility of the silicone insulation.
- Applications requiring chemical resistance: the cable is resistant to oils, greases, diluted acids and alkalis, and many other chemical substances.
Using this cable guarantees the reliability of the installation even in the most difficult working conditions. It also meets UL Style 4476 and CSA AWM II A/B standards, confirming its safety and quality. The cable is also compliant with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).
