Silicone cable, resistant to high temperatures acc. to UL/CSA SiHF UL/CSA 8G1mm² black, wire identification acc. to DIN VDE 0293-308 23232

Silicone cable for extreme conditions

This 8-core silicone cable, with a cross-section of 1 mm², is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal choice for industrial, energy and aerospace applications. The silicone-based cable construction provides flexibility and long-lasting reliability, even with frequent bending and movement.

Construction and properties

The cable is made of tinned copper conductors (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228), which guarantees good conductivity and corrosion resistance. The core insulation is made of silicone, providing excellent dielectric properties and high temperature resistance. The outer jacket is also silicone, providing additional protection against external factors. The cores are longitudinally twisted to increase flexibility and facilitate assembly. Core identification is done using colors according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – black or colored with white numbering. The protective conductor is yellow-green (from 3 cores and more).

The cable meets the stringent standards of UL Style 4476 and CSA AWM II A/B, confirming its safety and quality. It is halogen-free (compliant with DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1), which means that it does not release toxic gases in the event of a fire. Additionally, it does not spread flames (compliant with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 / CSA FT1).

Applications and benefits

This cable is widely used in:

  • Power plants: thanks to its resistance to high temperatures and halogen-free properties.
  • Industries: steel, aerospace, shipbuilding, glass, ceramics and cement plants – everywhere where extreme thermal conditions occur or high cable flexibility is required.
  • As a flexible connection cable: thanks to the high mechanical properties of the silicone insulation.
  • Applications requiring chemical resistance: to oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, acids, alkalis and oxidizing agents.

Thanks to its construction, the cable retains flexibility over a wide temperature range – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C) – allowing it to be used in the most difficult working conditions. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 12.4 mm and the rated voltage is 500V.
