Silicone cable for extreme conditions
This 8-core silicone cable is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal choice for industrial, energy and aerospace applications. Made from high-quality materials, it provides a reliable connection and long-lasting operation.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of multi-strand copper conductors (class 5) with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², insulated with silicone. The cores are twisted longitudinally, and a protective core (yellow-green) is present from 3 cores upwards. The whole is surrounded by a black silicone coating, which provides additional mechanical and chemical protection. The use of silicone as an insulating material and outer coating guarantees resistance to many chemical substances – oils, greases, acids, alkalis and solvents – which increases its versatility.
The cable meets UL Style 4476 and CSA AWM II A/B standards, confirming its high quality and safety. It is also halogen-free, minimizing the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire – compliant with DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1. Additionally, it does not spread flames according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 (equivalent to DIN VDE 0472 part 804 test method B) and CSA FT1.
Applications and benefits
This cable finds application in a wide range of industries:
- Power plants: Due to resistance to high temperatures and halogen-free properties.
- Steel, aerospace and shipbuilding industries: Demanding working environments with high thermal and mechanical loads.
- Ceramics, glass and cement plants: Extreme temperature and chemical conditions.
- Flexible connections: Thanks to the high flexibility of the silicone insulation.
- Applications requiring chemical resistance: In environments exposed to contact with various chemical substances.
Thanks to its properties, this cable provides:
- Reliability in extreme temperatures: Continuous operation up to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C) and in low temperatures down to -60°C.
- Safety: Halogen-free properties minimize the risk of toxic gas formation during a fire.
- Chemical resistance: Possibility of use in aggressive industrial environments.
- Flexibility: Facilitates installation even in hard-to-reach places.
- Compliance with standards: Confirmed quality and safety of use thanks to UL/CSA certificates and compliance with European directives (CE).
