Control and power cable for extreme conditions

This shielded control and power cable, made of silicone, is designed to operate in demanding industrial environments and applications where standard cables fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, and also provides effective signal shielding. It is an ideal solution for both installers and end-users looking for reliable and durable cabling.

Construction and properties

The SiHF-C-Si 10G1,5 mm² cable stands out with its advanced construction, which guarantees its unique properties. It consists of a multi-strand copper conductor (class 5), insulated with silicone, providing flexibility and resistance to bending. The conductors are twisted in parallel and color-coded according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – from 6 conductors, black numbering is used. Additionally, the cable has a braid of tinned copper wires, which acts as a shield, minimizing electromagnetic interference. The whole is surrounded by a special external silicone coating in brick red color.

It is worth noting the wide range of operating temperatures – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). This makes the cable perfect for applications exposed to extreme thermal conditions, such as industrial furnaces, heating devices or installations in the metallurgical industry. Additionally, the cable is resistant to UV radiation and many chemicals – oils, greases, acids and alkalis.

Applications and compliance with standards

This cable finds wide application in various industries: power plants, steelworks, foundries, shipbuilding industry, cement plants and in the cabling of high-power projectors and heating devices. Thanks to the shielding, it is particularly recommended in applications requiring high resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMC).

It meets the requirements of standards: DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83. The cable is also halogen-free (according to VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-2 / IEC 60754-2) and does not propagate flame (tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1). The rated voltage U is 500V and the test voltage is as high as 2000V.
