Silicone control and power cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This shielded silicone control and power cable is designed for operation in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by high temperature resistance, both continuous and short-term, making it an ideal solution for industrial, energy and anywhere requiring reliability and safety. This cable is particularly recommended for installation in places exposed to high temperatures, such as industrial furnaces, foundries, power plants or heating devices.
Construction and properties
The SiHF-C-Si 4G6 mm² cable stands out with its advanced construction providing optimal electrical and mechanical parameters. Made of stranded copper wires of flexibility class 5 (multi-strand flexible), it provides flexibility and ease of installation. Silicone rubber insulation guarantees resistance to extreme temperatures – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C) – and to many chemical substances, oils and solvents. The screen in the form of a copper wire braid minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC), ensuring a stable signal transfer. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in case of fire.
Applications and benefits
- Heavy industry: ideal for use in foundries, steelworks, cement plants and other industrial facilities exposed to high temperatures and aggressive environments.
- Energy: suitable for cabling energy devices where high thermal and electrical resistance is required.
- Lighting: excellent for cabling high-power projectors and other heat-generating devices.
- Heating devices: ideal for connecting various types of heating devices.
- Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC): shielding ensures minimization of interference and stable signal transfer. For optimal EMC, it is recommended to make a two-sided contact of the braid with the terminals using cable glands.
- Safety: the absence of halogens in the material composition limits the emission of toxic gases in case of fire.
- Flexibility: flexible construction facilitates installation even in hard-to-reach places.
- Durability: resistance to external factors ensures long cable life.
This cable meets the standards DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83 confirming its high quality and safety of use. Wire identification according to DIN VDE 0293-308 facilitates correct connection of wires during installation. The conductor cross-section of 6 mm² allows for transmitting appropriate current for many industrial and domestic applications.
