Silicone cable for extreme conditions
This 12-core silicone cable, with a cross-section of 1 mm², is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cables fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal choice for industrial and specialized applications. Made of high-quality materials, it provides a reliable connection and long-lasting operation.
Construction and properties
The cable has silicone insulation, which guarantees its flexibility even at extreme temperatures. Tinned copper conductors, manufactured in accordance with DIN VDE 0295 cl.5, BS 6360 cl.5 and IEC 60228 cl.5 standards, ensure excellent conductivity. The cores are longitudinally twisted to increase mechanical strength and resistance to damage. Core identification is carried out using colors according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – black or colored with white numbering (in the case of the two-core version, brown and blue). Additionally, the presence of a yellow-green protective core (from 3 cores and more) increases the safety level of the installation. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 14.4 mm.
Applications and benefits
This cable is widely used in industries where extreme thermal conditions prevail: power plants, steel industry, aviation, shipbuilding, ceramics, glass and cement plants. Its flexibility makes it ideal as a connecting cable in places requiring frequent bending and movement. Importantly, this is a halogen-free cable compliant with DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1 standards and does not propagate flames according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 (equivalent to DIN VDE 0472 part 804 test method B), and also has CSA FT1 certification. This ensures a high level of fire safety. The cable retains its properties in the temperature range from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C) and is resistant to many chemicals – oils, greases, alcohols, acids and bases.
