Silicone cable for extreme conditions
This multi-core silicone cable, characterized by high temperature resistance, is designed for applications requiring reliability in harsh conditions. It meets UL Style 4476 and CSA AWM II A/B standards, guaranteeing its quality and safety. It is an ideal solution for both professionals and end-users who need cables with exceptional thermal resistance and flexibility.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of high-quality materials, including silicone insulation and tinned copper conductors (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 cl.5 and IEC 60228). The conductors are longitudinally twisted, and the cable has a yellow-green protective conductor (from 3 conductors and more). Conductor marking is carried out in accordance with DIN VDE 0293-308 – black or colored with white numbering. The outer silicone coating provides additional protection against external factors. The cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire – leaving a SiO2 coating during combustion.
Applications and benefits
This cable is widely used in demanding industrial environments, such as power plants, metallurgy, aerospace, shipbuilding, and the production of ceramics, glass and cement. Thanks to its high flexibility, it works perfectly as a connection cable. Its resistance to high temperatures (up to +180°C continuously and up to +220°C short-term) and low temperatures (down to -60°C) makes it indispensable in applications exposed to extreme thermal conditions. Additionally, it is resistant to many oils, greases, acids, alkalis and atmospheric conditions. It meets safety standards regarding flame propagation (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1 and CSA FT1).
This cable is distinguished by a wide range of operating temperatures from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C), high chemical resistance to oils, greases, acids and alkalis, and halogen-free properties ensuring greater fire safety. Its flexibility makes it easy to install and connect. The cable is compliant with UL/CSA and DIN VDE standards and is characterized by radiation resistance up to 20x106 cJ/kg (up to 20 Mrad). It has a rated voltage of 500 V, a cross-sectional area of 1.5 mm², and the number of conductors is 41 with an outer diameter of approximately 29.2 mm.
