Silicone wire, high temperature resistant acc. to UL/CSA SiHF UL/CSA 8G0,5mm² black, conductor identification acc. to DIN VDE 0293-308 23220

Silicone cable for extreme conditions

This 8-core silicone cable is a specialized solution for applications requiring high thermal resistance and flexibility. The cable is designed to operate in a wide temperature range, from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C), making it an ideal choice for harsh industrial environments. Made of high-quality materials, it meets stringent UL/CSA standards, guaranteeing reliability and safety.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a construction ensuring long-term and trouble-free operation. Tinned copper conductors class 5 (flexible stranded) provide good conductivity and flexibility. The core insulation is made of silicone, providing excellent dielectric properties and resistance to high temperatures. Core marking is done according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – cores are black or colored with white numbering, which facilitates identification during installation. Cores twisted longitudinally minimize the risk of mechanical damage. Additionally, the cable has a yellow-green protective conductor (from 3 cores and more), increasing the level of safety. The outer jacket made of silicone provides additional protection against external factors.

Applications and benefits

The cable finds application in many industries where high thermal resistance and flexibility are required:

  • Power plants: thanks to the absence of halogens and resistance to high temperatures, it is ideal for use in environments with increased fire risk.
  • Steel, aviation, and shipbuilding industries: withstands extreme working conditions characteristic of these industries.
  • Ceramics, glass, and cement plants: resistant to high temperatures and aggressive chemical environments.
  • Flexible connections: high flexibility allows the cable to be used in places requiring frequent bends and movements.
  • Chemical resistance: resistant to oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, plasticizers, diluted acids and alkalis, and oxidizing agents.
  • Halogen-free: meets the standards of DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1 and DIN VDE 0472 part 815, which minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire.
  • Flame retardant: compliant with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 (equivalent to DIN VDE 0472 part 804 test method B) and CSA FT1.

The conductor cross-section is 0.5 mm², and the outer diameter is approximately 10.8 mm. The rated voltage U is 500 V, and the test voltage is 2000 V. The minimum bending radius is 7.5x cable diameter for flexible bending and 4x cable diameter for stationary bending. The cable is also radiation resistant up to 20x10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 20 Mrad).
