Single-core FEP wire – reliability in extreme conditions

This red HELUFLON®-FEP-6Y single-core wire with a cross-section of 0.5 mm² is a specialized solution for applications requiring high thermal and chemical resistance. Made of silver-plated copper, it provides excellent conductivity and durability. This wire is widely used in industrial installations, switchgear construction, and in environments exposed to aggressive substances.

Construction and properties

The wire is characterized by FEP (HELUFLON®) fluoropolymer insulation, which guarantees exceptional resistance to high temperatures – from -100°C to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C). The core made of silver-plated copper provides not only excellent conductivity but also increases resistance to corrosion. The wire has a class 5 core, which means it is a flexible stranded wire – this facilitates installation and adaptation to various applications. Its outer diameter is approximately 1.6 mm.

Importantly, the FEP insulation provides a number of additional benefits: it is flame retardant, resistant to microorganisms and fungi, completely resistant to ozone, and characterized by minimal water absorption. The materials used in production are silicone and cadmium-free, making it safe for applications requiring high standards of cleanliness. The wire meets the requirements of IEC 60332-1-2 regarding fire resistance.
