Highly durable FEP cable for extreme conditions.

This single-core HELUFLON®-FEP-6Y cable is designed for applications requiring high thermal and chemical resistance. Made of tinned copper and insulated with FEP fluoropolymer, it ensures reliable operation in harsh industrial and domestic environments. The cable is flexible thanks to the multi-wire strand construction of class 5.

Application and design features

This cable is widely used in installations and construction of switchgear cabinets, especially where extreme temperatures prevail – in furnaces, brickworks, heating and kitchen appliances. It will also be useful in the chemical industry, where resistance to aggressive chemicals such as alkalis, acids, food products, oils and gasoline is required. Due to its properties, it is ideal for use in measuring devices and anywhere standard cables fail.

• Wide operating temperature range: from -100°C to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C), making it ideal for use in high-temperature industrial processes.
• Exceptional chemical resistance: does not react with most chemicals, ensuring long-term reliability in an aggressive environment.
• High insulation: FEP-HELUFLON® insulation provides minimal dielectric losses and high insulation resistance (minimum 2 GOhm/km).
• Radiation resistance: the cable retains its properties even under the influence of radiation.
• Small outer diameter: 1.6 mm with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², makes installation and routing of cables in tight spaces easier.
• Tinned copper core: provides good electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance.

Safety and compliance with standards

The cable meets the safety requirements of IEC 60332-1-2 and DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1 (equivalent to DIN VDE 0472 part 804 test method B), confirming its non-flammability and self-extinguishing properties. The materials used in production do not contain silicone or cadmium, or substances that interfere with painting. The cable is completely waterproof and resistant to the development of microorganisms and fungi. The product is compliant with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).

Additionally, the cable is characterized by a rated voltage U0/U of 600V and an insulation resistance of at least 2 GOhm/km. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter for flexible bending and 4 x cable diameter for stationary bending.
