Single-core FEP wire – reliability in extreme conditions
This single-core wire with FEP fluoropolymer insulation is a solution for demanding applications where standard wires fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high temperatures, chemicals and harsh environmental conditions. Ideal for both industrial installations and building switchgear cabinets. Made of silver-plated copper, it provides excellent conductivity and long-lasting reliability.
Construction and properties
The HELUFLON®-FEP-6Y wire stands out with its careful construction. The core is made of silver-plated copper, which minimizes corrosion and increases resistance to oxidation, thereby extending the wire's lifespan. The FEP fluoropolymer insulation provides not only high thermal resistance (up to +205°C, briefly up to +230°C) but also chemical resistance to acids, bases, oils and gasoline. Additionally, this material is flame retardant and resistant to microorganisms and fungal growth.
The wire has a cross-section of 16 mm², making it suitable for transmitting larger currents. Its approximate outer diameter is 7 mm. The flexible construction makes it easy to install even in tight spaces – the minimum bending radius is 10x the cable diameter for flexible bending and 4x the cable diameter for stationary bending. The insulation resistance is at least 2 GOhm/km, which guarantees safe use.
