Single-core FEP wire, resistant to high temperatures HELUFLON®-FEP-6Y 1x2.5 mm² transparent, conductor: tinned copper 25576
Single-core FEP wire for extreme conditions
This single-core HELUFLON®-FEP-6Y wire is a specialized solution designed for operation in demanding conditions where standard wires fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and flames. Ideal for both professional installers and end-users who need reliable and safe cabling.
Construction and application
The wire is made of a stranded copper core, tinned for better protection against corrosion. The FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) fluoropolymer insulation provides excellent dielectric properties, chemical and thermal resistance. This makes the wire suitable for industrial installations, switchgear cabinets, furnaces, heating devices, and also in the chemical industry – anywhere high reliability and safety are required. This is particularly important in environments exposed to corrosive substances, high temperatures, or fire hazards.
Key features and benefits
- Exceptional thermal resistance: The wire retains its properties over a wide temperature range – from -100°C to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C). This is crucial in applications with variable temperatures or exposed to high heat.
- Chemical resistance: FEP insulation is completely resistant to most acids, bases, oils, gasoline, and food products. This ensures long-term and trouble-free operation even in an aggressive chemical environment.
- Safety: The self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material meets the standards DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1. This reduces the risk of fire spreading in the event of a failure.
- High quality workmanship: The stranded copper core meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0295 class 5, BS 6360 class 5 and IEC 60228 class 5, guaranteeing flexibility and durability of connections.
- Minimal water permeability: Provides protection against moisture and corrosion in harsh environmental conditions.
- Low dielectric loss: Translates to efficient transmission of electrical signals without unnecessary energy loss.
The 2.5 mm² core cross-section and 600V rated voltage make this wire a versatile solution for many electrical applications. The outer diameter of approximately 2.8 mm facilitates installation and routing of wires in tight spaces.
