The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y T.E cable is a specialized single-core cable characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, chemicals, and radiation. It features fluoropolymer PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation, making it an ideal solution for demanding industrial applications, as well as installations in places exposed to harsh environmental conditions. This cable is used in the construction of switchgear cabinets, furnaces, brickworks, kitchen and measuring devices, as well as in the chemical industry.

Construction and properties

The cable construction is based on silver-plated copper conductors, ensuring good conductivity and corrosion resistance. The PTFE-HELUFLON® insulation meets the standards of DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878. Thanks to the materials and manufacturing technology used, this cable stands out with a number of advantages:

• Extreme thermal resistance: operating temperature range from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C).
• Chemical resistance: does not react with most acids, bases, solvents, oils and gasoline.
• High insulation: minimum insulation resistance 1 GOhm x km.
• Low flammability: self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material, tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 standards.
• Radiation resistance: up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad).
• Low electrical losses.
• No water absorption.

The cable is available in various colors – to order a specific color, add the appropriate symbol to the catalog number: 1 = black, 2 = red, 3 = blue, 4 = brown, 5 = white, 6 = transparent, 7 = two-color, 8 = other colors. Bare, tinned or nickel-plated conductors are also available on request.

Technical parameters and application

The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y T.E cable with a conductor cross-section of 0.95 mm² and an outer diameter of approximately 1.94 mm is designed to operate at a voltage of up to 600V (type E) or 1000V (type EE). The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter. Thanks to its properties, it is perfect for applications requiring high reliability and safety in extreme operating conditions – from industrial installations to laboratory and medical devices. Compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU confirms its safety of use.
