This specialized HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is a reliable solution for installations requiring resistance to extreme temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and harsh environmental conditions. This cable is used in switchgear cabinets, furnaces, brickworks, kitchen appliances, as well as in the chemical industry, where it is exposed to contact with flames, acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, and gasoline. Complies with the Low Voltage Directive.

Construction and material properties

The cable construction is based on a silver-plated copper core, ensuring good conductivity and corrosion resistance. Insulation made of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) – HELUFLON® – guarantees exceptional thermal resistance (up to +260°C, briefly up to +300°C) and chemical resistance. The material used is also non-flammable and resistant to microorganisms and fungal growth. Additionally, PTFE is characterized by minimal water absorption and water permeability. The core can be supplied bare or tinned/nickel-plated on request.

Technical parameters and scope of application

The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is designed to operate at a voltage of 600V (type E) or 1000V (type EE). It has a high insulation resistance (min. 1 GOhm x km) and complies with DIN VDE 0881 and IEC 60673 standards. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter. Radiation resistance reaches up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad). The operating temperature range of the core depends on the material: copper +130°C, tinned copper +180°C, silver-plated copper +200°C, nickel-plated copper +260°C.

Thanks to its properties, this cable is ideal for applications requiring reliability and safety in extreme conditions. Available core colors: black, red, blue, brown, white, transparent, and two-color and other colors on request.
