Single-core PTFE wire HELUFLON®-PTFE-5Y 1xAWG14/19 (1.94 mm²) black, 1000 V 25451
High-temperature PTFE cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This specialized HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y T.EE cable, with a cross-section of 1xAWG14/19 (1.94 mm²), is an ideal solution for applications requiring resistance to extreme temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and harsh environmental conditions. Made with silver-plated copper core and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation, it ensures reliable operation even in the most demanding installations. The cable is black, making it easy to identify in installations.
Construction and properties – the key to long-term operation
The cable construction is based on silver-plated copper cores, which increases conductivity and corrosion resistance. HELUFLON® PTFE insulation guarantees exceptional chemical, thermal, and electrical resistance. PTFE meets the MIL-W 16878 standard, confirming its high quality and reliability. Additionally, the cable is characterized by:
- Wide operating temperature range: from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C), allowing it to be used in extreme conditions.
- High chemical resistance: resistant to acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, and gasoline – ideal for use in the chemical industry.
- Low electrical losses: minimizes energy losses in the installation.
- Non-flammability: self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material, tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 standards.
- Radiation resistance: withstands exposure to radiation up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad).
- Minimal water absorption: ensures stable electrical parameters even in humid environments.
Applications and compliance with standards
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y T.EE cable is primarily used in:
- Installations and construction of switchgear cabinets operating in extreme thermal conditions (e.g., furnaces, brickworks).
- Kitchen and measuring devices exposed to high temperatures.
- The chemical industry – as a cable resistant to aggressive chemical substances.
The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and DIN VDE 0881 and IEC 60673 standards. The operating voltage is typically 600V or 1000V (type EE), and the test voltage is 3.4kV or 5kV, respectively. The minimum insulation resistance is 1GOhm x km. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter.
