Single-core PTFE wire HELUFLON®-PTFE-5Y 1xAWG14/19 (1.94 mm²) brown, 1000 V 25454
PTFE cable for extreme conditions
This specialized HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable, designed for operation in harsh conditions, stands out with its exceptional resistance to temperature, chemicals and radiation. It is ideal for both industrial installations and control panel construction, where reliability and safety are required. This cable is particularly recommended for use in furnaces, brickworks, kitchen appliances and the chemical industry.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a construction ensuring long-term and trouble-free operation. The copper core, silver-plated for better conductivity, is insulated with high-quality PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) – a material with exceptional dielectric and thermal properties. The PTFE insulation meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0207 part 6 and MIL-W 16878 standards. This makes the cable resistant to high temperatures (up to +260°C, briefly even +300°C) and low temperatures (down to -190°C). Additionally, it is flame retardant, resistant to microorganisms and fungal growth, and completely resistant to ozone and atmospheric conditions. Water absorption is minimal – below 0.01%.
This cable also features:
- High insulation resistance – minimum insulation resistance is 1 GOhm x km.
- Low electrical losses.
- Radiation resistance up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad).
- Minimal water permeability – about 0.18 mg/cm² in 24 hours.
- Made of materials that do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that interfere with painting.
Applications and parameters
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is available in colors: black (1), red (2), blue (3), brown (4), white (5), transparent (6), two-color (7) and other colors on request (8). The core can be supplied bare, tinned or nickel-plated on request. The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). The operating voltage is typically 600V or 1000V (type E or EE), and the test voltage is 3.4kV or 5kV, respectively. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter. The purpose of this cable is primarily installations requiring high reliability in extreme temperature and chemical conditions - from control panels to industrial furnaces.
