Single-core PTFE wire HELUFLON®-PTFE-5Y 1xAWG18/19 (0.95 mm²) blue, 1000 V 25433
Durable PTFE cable for extreme conditions
This specialized HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y T.EE cable, catalog number 25433, is a reliable solution for installations requiring resistance to high temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and harsh environmental conditions. This cable is particularly recommended for use in furnaces, brickworks, kitchen appliances, laboratories, and the chemical industry. Its construction and materials guarantee long-lasting and safe operation even in the most demanding applications.
Construction and properties
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable features a silver-plated copper conductor, ensuring excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance. The insulation made of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) – a material with exceptional dielectric and thermal properties – guarantees safe use over a wide temperature range, from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C). Additionally, PTFE provides resistance to chemicals, oils, solvents, and radiation. The cable is flame retardant and prevents the growth of fungi, increasing its durability and hygiene.
Applications and standards
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is widely used in electrical installations operating under extreme temperature conditions and in environments exposed to aggressive chemical substances. It is ideal for building switchgear cabinets, heating devices, and in the chemical industry. It meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). Its radiation resistance reaches 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad), making it suitable for use in specific industrial sectors. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter, making installation easier even in tight spaces. The insulation resistance is min. 1 GOhm x km. The test voltage is 5kV for EE type.
- Chemical resistance: No worries about the action of acids, bases or solvents – PTFE insulation provides protection against corrosion and damage.
- Wide temperature range: Operation from -190°C to +260°C (short-term +300°C) allows the cable to be used in extreme conditions.
- Safety: Self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material meeting DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 standards provides fire protection.
- Durability: Resistance to microorganisms and fungal growth guarantees long-term operation without the risk of material degradation.
- Versatility: The cable is available in blue (symbol 3), but other colors can be ordered by adding the appropriate symbol to the catalog number: 1=black, 2=red, 4=brown, 5=white, 6=transparent, 7=bicolor or 8=other colors. The conductor can be supplied bare or tinned/nickel-plated on request.
