Construction and properties
The HELUFLON-PTFE-5Y cable is characterized by a construction ensuring long-term and trouble-free operation. The copper core is silver-plated for better conductivity and corrosion resistance. The PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation – a material with exceptional dielectric and thermal properties – provides high resistance to mechanical damage, chemicals, and high temperatures. Additionally, this material is non-flammable and prevents the development of fungi.
- Silver-plated copper core ensures excellent electrical conductivity.
- PTFE insulation guarantees resistance to temperatures from -190°C to +260°C (short-term up to +300°C).
- High chemical resistance – the cable is resistant to acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, and gasoline.
- Low water permeability minimizes the risk of corrosion.
- Self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material increases safety of use.
- Radiation resistance allows use in environments exposed to ionizing radiation (up to 1 x 10⁵ cJ/kg).
Technical parameters and application
The cable is available in various cross-sections, adapted to the needs of specific applications. The operating voltage of the cable is 600V (type E) or 1000V (type EE), and the test voltage is 3.4kV or 5kV, respectively. The minimum insulation resistance is 1GOhm x km. Thanks to its flexibility and ease of installation, this cable performs well in both fixed installations and applications requiring frequent bending. The cable color is brown, making it easier to identify in the electrical installation. The core can be supplied bare or tinned/nickel-plated on request. The product meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).
